Overview:
Novo Facades, a leading construction company specialising in facades projects, is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing facades projects in both London and Manchester, overseeing projects ranging from £1 million to £15 million in value. This position offers the opportunity for career advancement, with the potential to transition into a Commercial Manager role and build and lead your own team.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Management:
Oversee all aspects of facades projects from inception to completion.
Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Coordinate with project stakeholders including clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors.
Cost Management:
Prepare accurate cost estimates for projects.
Monitor project budgets and financial performance.
Identify and manage cost variations and ensure adherence to project budgets.
Procurement:
Source and procure materials, subcontractors, and services required for projects.
Negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing and favorable terms.
Risk Management:
Identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
Implement effective risk management processes throughout the project lifecycle.
Commercial Leadership:
Provide commercial leadership and support to project teams.
Mentor and develop junior members of the quantity surveying team.
Client Relations:
Foster strong relationships with clients, ensuring their needs and expectations are met.
Address client queries and concerns in a professional and timely manner.
Reporting:
Prepare regular progress reports for project stakeholders.
Provide accurate and timely financial reporting on project performance.
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
Chartered status with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) preferred.
Minimum of 7 years of experience in quantity surveying within the construction industry, with a focus on facades projects.
Strong understanding of construction contracts, procurement methods, and cost management principles.
Proven track record of successfully managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to lead and motivate project teams.
Proficiency in relevant software such as MS Excel, MS Project, and industry-specific quantity surveying tools.
