Quantity Surveyor
Job Description
As a result of an increase in our secured project commitments throughout 2022 and into 2023. We are looking for Commercial Staff [either Assistant / Graduate / Experienced Quantity Surveyor] to join our current Commercial Team to assist with the day to day cost management of our projects.The role
With projects across the south coast & London, ranging in values from £500k to £5m. The successful candidate will be required to provide assistance to the existing Commercial Team with the following duties/responsibilities;
Site Survey’s/Tracking progress.
Liaising close with all departments such as Site, Design, Estimating and Procurement.
Identification, pricing and submission of variations.
Commercial and contractual advice to other members of the team as and when required
Managing sub-contractors including sending out enquiries, collating prices, comparing with tender, negotiation, order placement, agreement of account and payment.
Provide commercial input including financial and contractual performance forecasts to the management team. Help ensure that business targets are achieved/exceeded
Preparation of monthly cost / value reports for area, together with review of results and consideration of trends with other contract team members
Ad hoc task as and when appropriate.
About you
For this role the ideal candidate will possess the following Key skills and qualifications;
Minimum of HNC/D or equivalent qualification in construction related subject.
Experience in a similar role/ environment preferred.
Strong organisation and communication skills
Reliable, trustworthy and proactive in their approach.
Willingness to travel.
Efficient in the use of Microsoft Software, especially Excel.
