Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Contracts Manager to join our team in the North West, based in Manchester. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing multiple facade projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires a deep understanding of facade systems, contract management, and project programming, as well as excellent leadership and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Management:

Oversee the end-to-end delivery of facade projects, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, technical specifications, and quality standards.

Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively to achieve successful project outcomes.

Coordinate with clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure seamless project execution.

Contract Administration:

Demonstrate a thorough understanding of various contract types, including JCT (Joint Contracts Tribunal) and other relevant forms of contract.

Administer contracts, including managing variations, claims, and disputes, ensuring compliance with contractual terms and conditions.

Prepare and review contract documents, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

Programming and Planning:

Develop and maintain detailed project programs, ensuring alignment with project milestones and deliverables.

Monitor progress against the program, identifying and mitigating risks and delays.

Implement effective planning strategies to optimize project efficiency and resource allocation.

Technical Expertise:

Possess a strong understanding of facade systems, materials, and installation techniques.

Provide technical guidance and support to project teams, ensuring compliance with design specifications and industry standards.

Resolve technical issues and challenges that arise during the project lifecycle.

Stakeholder Management:

Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and suppliers.

Act as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing their concerns and ensuring their expectations are met.

Collaborate with internal teams, including design, engineering, and procurement, to ensure project success.

Health, Safety, and Quality:

Ensure all projects adhere to health and safety regulations and company policies.

Implement and maintain quality assurance processes to deliver projects to the highest standards.

Conduct regular site inspections and audits to monitor compliance and performance.

Person Specification:

Experience:

Proven experience as a Contracts Manager within the construction or facade industry.

Demonstrated experience managing facade projects, with a strong understanding of facade systems and installation processes.

Experience working with JCT and other forms of contract.

Skills:

Excellent project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Strong technical knowledge of facade systems, materials, and construction methods.

Proficient in creating and managing project programs using industry-standard software.

Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.

Qualifications:

Degree or equivalent qualification in construction management, engineering, or a related field.

Professional membership with a relevant industry body (e.g., CIOB, RICS) is desirable but not essential.
